Nufarm Americas has been granted U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registration for its Sure Power selective herbicide.
“Sure Power herbicide represents a new standard in weed control,” said Jason Fausey, Ph.D., Nufarm’s turf & ornamentals technical services director. “It’s a fast-acting broad-spectrum herbicide that controls some of the most challenging weeds, such as ground ivy and wild violet.”
Sure Power uses a four-way active ingredient combination of 2,4-D, triclopyr, fluroxypyr and flumioxazin. It offers early-season and late-season control of more than 250 weeds, including tough-to-manage broadleaves that impact turf appearance and quality, according to Nufarm. It delivers two different modes of action to support resistance management programs.
Field trials conducted at Michigan State University led by Department of Plant, Soil, & Microbial Science Research Assistant Aaron Hathaway found that Sure Power provided “excellent control of dandelion, white clover, broadleaf plantain, black medic and very consistent wild violet control.”
Sure Power is now registered in 24 states.
